The Thilawa SEZ continues the Tradition of Caring: the 6th Cash Assistance Program for the Elderly

Thilawa, May 9

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the 6th TSEZ Cash Assistance Program for the Elderly, reaffirming our ongoing commitment to supporting and uplifting the communities surrounding Thilawa Special Economic Zone (TSEZ).

From May 6th to May 9th, 2025, a total of 123 elderly residents aged 80 and above from nearby communities—Thida Myaing Ward, Shwe Pyi Thar Yar Ward, Aye Mya Thida Ward, Shwe Pyauk Village Tract (Kyauk Tan Township), and Ah Lwan Suk Village (Thanlyin Township)—received direct financial support as part of our annual social support initiative.

Each elder was provided with 200,000/- kyats, resulting in a total disbursement of 24,600,000/-kyats for this year’s contribution. We made every effort to ensure the assistance was delivered with dignity and care—either at designated community gathering locations or, for those unable to attend, directly at their homes.

This program is more than financial aid—it is a meaningful expression of Myanmar Tradition, by symbol of respect, compassion, and community care. With the voluntary involvement of Thilawa SEZ locators, this year's program was especially impactful. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the locators who generously contributed their time and resources, helping us to honor and care the elders in our surrounding communities.

The TSEZ Cash Assistance Program remains a cornerstone of our broader community engagement efforts, reflecting our core values of inclusivity, social responsibility, and sustainable development. We remain dedicated to strengthening the relationships with our neighboring communities and continuing this valued tradition of support in the years ahead.
