State Counsellor inspects Thilawa Special Economic Zone: Emphasizing on the important of coordination and cooperation for TSEZ in relations

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi led Union Minister U Kyaw Tint Swe, U Min Thu, U Thaung Tun, Yangon Regional Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, Deputy Minister of Planning and Finance, in his capacity as Chairman of Thilawa SEZ Management Committee, Dr.Set Aung, Japanese Minister to Myanmar Mr.Ichiro Maruyama, Chairman of Myanmar Japan Thilawa Development Limited U Win Aung and President and CEO Mr.Tomoyasu Shimizu attended the ceremony  concerning about the progress and ongoing business of the SEZ on August 21st at the Myanmar Japan Thilawa Development Limited. State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi emphasized on the importance of coordination and cooperation among the relevant departments and the public during her inspection tour to Thilawa Special Economic Zone.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Finance, Chairman of Thilawa SEZ Management Committee, Dr.Set Aung said “We made other additional service concerning with government department for investors with one stop service in OSSC office. According to that case, we have got the success but we can’t satisfy only in this situation. If more investors will come, there have multi operation. So, we will continue for making standard operation procedure with international standard policy. Thilawa Special Economic Zone is role model among Special Economic Zone. We will try to be forever role model of special zone”

In making remarks on the discussion, the State Counsellor expressed her appreciation for the progress of Thilawa SEZ , she also put emphasis on the importance of coordination among the relevant departments and cooperation in relation with the public and business companies and recognized a complaint programme at the SEZ that was a newly developed for ensuring good practices in dealing with public.

The State Counsellor and the party then visited the One Stop Service Center (OSSC), the Foster Electric Thilawa Co.,Ltd that manufacture speakers and earphones, the pharmaceutical company Zifam Pyrex Myanmar Co.,Ltd,  the fermented drink production yogurt factory Yakult Myanmar co.,Ltd and the automatic factory Suzuki Thilawa Motor Co.,Ltd.

The State Counsellor encouraged for the successful implementation of the one stop service center that is helping the daily business operations in the support of coordination and cooperation. She finally congratulated the management and leading role of Chairman Dr Set Aung.

A total of 113 business firms from 20 countries have invested over US$1.7 billion in doing their businesses. Among them, 76 companies have begun commercially and 20 of them are exporting their products.
