Thilawa SEZ Contributes Stationery Items to over 4,600 Students

Thilawa, August 27

The Thilawa Special Economic Zone (TSEZ) successfully conducted its 9th annual stationery donation program from August 20th to 23rd, 2024, marking another significant milestone in its ongoing community engagement efforts. This year, the program reached new heights by distributing essential stationery supplies to 4,640 students from seven villages and wards surrounding the Thilawa SEZ, reinforcing the TSEZ’s commitment to the educational development of the local communities.

The program was a collaborative initiative involving the Community Relations Department of Myanmar Japan Thilawa Development (MJTD) and several locators within the TSEZ. Among the locators, TCCC Myanmar Company Limited and CPP Fertilizer Myanmar Company provided their volunteer supports alongside the MJTD Community Relations Department. Additionally, Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings Public Co., Ltd. (MTSH), Alidac Healthcare Myanmar Limited, and Myanmar Yazaki Thilawa Co., Ltd. contributed individual donations to selected primary schools at Shwe Pyi Thar Yar Ward and Aye Mya Thida Ward.

The donated items included a wide range of stationery supplies, such as exercise books, pencils, pens, rulers, erasers, and math compasses, specifically aimed at supporting students from Grade 6 to 9. Each student also received an eco-friendly recycled bag. The total value of this year’s contributions exceeded 100 million kyats, underscoring the significance of the program’s impact.

The Annual Thilawa SEZ stationery donation program remains one of cornerstones of the TSEZ’s social responsibility initiatives, demonstrating a sustained commitment to improving the educational prospects and overall well-being of the surrounding communities. This year’s success serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts of the MJTD, its locators, and the broader TSEZ community including schools and children, highlighting the positive impact that can be obtained from the social responsible activities of the TSEZ.
