After the accomplishment of “Homage Paying Donation” ceremony, Myanmar Japan Thilawa Development (MJTD) organized “Back to School” donation program for the fifth time on the 20^th of May, where stationery kits and school supplies were donated to over 4,000 children,  more than 1,200 increase in the total number of children compared to last year.  The ceremony was held at the Moe Kyoe Swan Monastery near the economic zone as joint CSR activities of MJTD together with TSEZ’s locators and investors that support the neighboring community around Thilawa.

Members of Thilawa SEZ Management Committee (TSMC) MJTD, Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings Public Limited, investors of TSEZ, school teachers and students attended the ceremony.

It has been five years as this annual tradition was born and the program continues to help local children by encouraging and inspiring them to begin their new school term at ease.

MJTD and its partners share the same goal that such CSR programs should be engaged not only with the local community but it also plays a part in the development of the country’s education sector. The total amount of donation by MJTD for the education sector has so far reached almost 80 million MMK by the fiscal year of 2018-2019. The focus in different kinds of CSR activities in education, community, health and capacity building has contributed to the improvement and development of the families in the economic zone.

MJTD’s annual “Back to school” donation provides essential stationary supplies, raincoats and uniforms to over 4,000 students from 19 schools in Nyaung Waing Village, Thida Myaing Village, Aye Mya Thida Village, Pha Yar Kone Village, Shwe Pyout Village, Shwe Pyi Tar Yar Village and A Lun Sut Village. This programme involves donations that totals to about 55 million MMK, with additional support from Thilawa SEZ locators such as Zifam Pyrex, Popular Plastic Group, Alidac Health Care (Myanmar) and Myanmar Aijinomoto Foods Company.
