Thilawa SEZ Completes Basic Art and Drawing Class for Primary Students
The Thilawa Special Economic Zone (TSEZ) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its Basic Art and Drawing class, held at Shwe Pyi Tharyar Ward, Kyauk Tan Township, on 4 August 2024. This initiative, aimed at fostering creativity and artistic skills among young students, saw the participation of 80 selected students from Grades 3, 4, and 5 across three primary schools: BEPS Thilawa, BEPS Thilawa Kone Tan, and BEPS Tat Yar Kone.
This program spanned two months from 8 June 2024 to 3 August 2024, with two sessions of 40 students each held every Saturday. The curriculum focused on developing basic art skills and concepts, including color theory, shading, tones and coloring, poster making, comic creation, and sketching. Additionally, the program aimed to enhance fine and gross motor skills and cognitive function.
This program successfully met its goals of nurturing young talents and providing students with a foundation of various art techniques and concepts. It provided a platform for them to explore and express their creativity through different art forms. Engaging in art also helped enhance cognitive functions such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and concentration.
The closing ceremony was held on 4 August 2024, during which certificates of completion were awarded to all students who finished the course. Awards for first, second, and third places, along with a prize for the best creative idea, were also presented. Unfortunately, one student was unable to attend the ceremony due to family matters, but the class concluded successfully with a 98% completion rate.
Thilawa SEZ remains committed to supporting educational initiatives that contribute to the holistic development of students. The positive feedback from participants and their parents underscores the importance of such programs in fostering a well-rounded education.
