"Thilawa SEZ Extends Support to Elderly Residents (Aged 80 and Above) in Surrounding Communities"

Thilawa, April 30

Thilawa Special Economic Zone has once again extended its social contributions by organizing the cash assistance program aimed at supporting senior citizens aged 80 and above in the neighboring communities. On April 25th, 36 elderly individuals in Thida Myaing Ward received support, followed by 33 recipients in Aye Mya Thida Ward and Shwe Pyi Thar Yar Ward on April 30th, 2024.

Under this initiative, each eligible elder received 150,000 MMK in cash aid, both at gathering spots within their wards and directly at the homes of elders who are unable to join the gathering sports. The involvement of Kianjoo Can (Myanmar) Co., Ltd, Boxpak (Myanmar) Co., Ltd and JFE Meranti Myanmar Co., Ltd, alongside the CEO, Officers and members of the Community Relations Department of Myanmar Japan Thilawa Development Limited (MJTD), contributed the collaborative effort to succeed this contribution at the respective wards.

Since 2019, Thilawa Special Economic Zone has consistently supported elderly individuals in surrounding communities through cash assistance programs.
