Thilawa SEZ wraps up 2023 with thrilling Badminton Tournament

The Year End TSEZ Badminton Tournament 2023 was successfully hosted on December 2 and 3, commencing from 8:00 AM on each day at Rental Factory C, located in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone. The purpose of sports tournament is to foster strong relationships among Thilawa SEZ Locators through sports activities, cultivate a positive image for Thilawa SEZ by encouraging increased cooperation among the locators in future socially responsible initiatives, encourage All Thilawa SEZ employees to engage in physical activities essential for overall well-being, encompassing both physical and mental health and all the Locators belong to be as “One Team” named “Thilawa SEZ”.

The overall numbers of 105 matches under the five main categories of the badminton event included Men's and Women's Singles, Doubles (Men's, Women's, and Mixed) were completed with the strenuously participation of (20) Locators of Thilawa SEZ.

The entire tournament was completed with the oversight of the Referee and Umpires from Myanmar Badminton Federation. On the first day, December 2nd, a total of 74 matches were played, including the first, second, and third rounds, as well as the quarterfinal matches. The remaining of Quarterfinals, Semi-finals, and Finals thrived as well as held the closing and awarding ceremony was held on December 3rd.

On the whole, 6 locators (including MJTD) emerged victorious in their respective categories.
The individual category champions (First Prize Winner) are as follows:

  • Men's Singles: Suzuki Thilawa Motor Co., Ltd - Mr. Zar Ni Tun
  • Women's Singles: BS Yangon Co., Ltd - Ms. Hnin Chit Wai
  • Men's Doubles: Kalbe Myanmar Co., Ltd - Mr. Rinaldi and Mr. Khine Soe Lin
  • Women's Doubles: BS Yangon Co., Ltd - Ms. Wint War Tun and Ms. Ei Ei Htwe
  • Mixed Doubles: Kalbe Myanmar Co., Ltd - Mr. Rinaldi and Ms. Aye Chan Myat Phyo

For the Second and Third prize places gained competently Kalbe Myanmar Co., Ltd, Myanmar Japan Thilawa Development Limited, BS Yangon Co., Ltd, Guston Amava Limited, Myarnak Co., Ltd, Suzuki Thilawa Motor Co., Ltd and Fumakilla Myanmar Limited.

About 400 spectators turned out to support their respective teams on both days. The Year End TSEZ Badminton Tournament 2023 proceeded flawlessly and figured out with joyful, enthusiasm and an accomplished outcome of empowering both participants and spectators in Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
