TSEZ Celebrates International Women’s Day 2026

Thilawa, March 20

Our recent CSR initiative was the TSEZ International Women’s Day celebration, held on 20th March 2026 at the MJTD Multipurpose Hall. This was one of the most remarkable and memorable events at Thilawa SEZ, and we are proud to have organized it for the very first time.

Although International Women’s Day is officially marked on March 8, it is widely recognized and celebrated throughout the month of March. This gave us the opportunity to host the event later in the month, ensuring meaningful participation.

The event brought together 65 women professionals within TSEZ, creating a workplace where women are empowered, respected, and given equal opportunities to lead and succeed.

The program began with an inspiring opening speech by TSMC Vice-Chairman Daw Cho Cho Wynn, who shared the history of IWD along with her educational and career journey. She spoke candidly about her lifelong struggles and determination to establish herself in the industrial sector as a woman leader. Her words deeply motivated younger women, encouraging them in their personal development.

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Khin Thiri, Director of Zifam Pyrex, shared her unique career path—transitioning from physician to corporate leader. She emphasized the importance of teamwork and support in leadership roles, leaving a strong impression on attendees.

The highlight of the event was a panel discussion featuring our CFO Ma Yu War, along with two senior managers from JFE Myanmar – Ma Thet Su Mon@ Julia and Lightion Myanmar – Ma Cherry. They shared their experiences of rising to leadership positions, their perspectives on balancing work and family life, parenting challenges, and the resilience required to succeed. Despite the short duration, the discussion provided invaluable insights and inspiration for all of the attendees.

The TSEZ International Women’s Day Event 2026 was more than a celebration—it was a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to building workplaces where women are empowered, respected, and given equal opportunities to lead and succeed. By honouring the remarkable contributions of women across the industrial community, TSEZ continue to drive forward the values of inclusivity, sustainability, and collective growth in Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
